Terms of Use

These terms cover how quotes, orders, deliveries and installation work are handled by The Door Connection, and where responsibility sits between us and the client.

Scope of supply and services

We supply and, where agreed in writing, install timber, engineered and aluminium doors, frames, architraves and hardware. A written quote lists door leaves, frame profiles, ironmongery, finishes and the agreed installation scope. Anything not listed, such as tiling, plastering, painting, electrical work or structural alterations to the opening, stays outside our scope and remains the client's responsibility.

Client responsibilities

The client confirms that opening sizes, wall types and floor levels given to us are correct, or books a site measure so we can verify them. Meranti and other timber leaves must be sealed on all six faces before hanging, and doors should not be fitted before wet trades are finished and the plaster has dried. Hardware supplied by the client is fitted at the client's risk, and we cannot guarantee the finish or function of items we did not supply.

Lead times, delivery and access

Lead times are confirmed per order and depend on profile, finish and stock at the time of confirmation. Delivery dates are estimates and can shift if a site is not ready, access is blocked, or the client changes the door schedule after the order is placed. Someone authorised to receive and inspect the goods must be on site. Damage or shortages must be noted on the delivery document and reported to us in writing within seven days.

Limits of liability

We are responsible for supplying goods that match the confirmed specification and for installation work carried out by our own teams. We are not liable for damage caused by movement of the structure, damp, incorrect storage on site, painting or sealing done after installation, or hardware fitted by others. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the goods or work supplied under the relevant order. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot be excluded under South African consumer law.

Cancellations and changes

Orders for standard stock items can be changed or cancelled before dispatch. Custom-sized leaves, non-standard frame profiles and powder-coated aluminium units are made to order and cannot be cancelled once production has started. Where a site visit or installation slot is booked and the site is not ready, a return visit may be scheduled at an additional cost, which will be confirmed in writing before we proceed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in how we supply, deliver or install. The version published on this page applies to new orders from the date it goes live. Orders already confirmed stay on the terms agreed at the time of confirmation. Questions about these terms, or about a specific order, can be sent to info@thedoorconection.com or raised by phone on +27334159391. Written correspondence can also be posted to 195 Alex Valley Suite 384, West Lisa, NW 9325.
